Compost Purchase
Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is soliciting a Contractor to provide approximately 20,000 cubic yards (CY) of compost (depending on percent organic matter, percent moisture, etc. per CY) for use in remediation/restoration efforts on the floodplain along Silver Bow Creek, Streamside Tailings Operable Unit, Silver Bow Creek/Butte Area NPL Site. Compost is to be delivered to several areas within five miles of Opportunity, Montana, beginning August 2011 and completed by June 15, 2012. This procurement is being treated as a limited solicitation.
Each Bidder shall provide the following information to DEQ on the attached Bid Form:
Price of Compost (Delivered) $/CY of compost delivered to an area to be identified by DEQ within five miles of Fairmont, MT.
Proposed schedule/rate (quantity) of delivery.
Screened size. All compost must be screened inch minus and free of trash.
Taxpayer's ID Number.
Bidder's Registration Number (if applicable) or a statement as to why it is not required.
Bidder shall submit a representative sample of the compost to a US Composting Council Test Methods for the Examination of Composting and Compost (TMECC) Tier II approved laboratory (see attached list of available laboratories).
