The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation seeks proposals from firms--already working in SE Louisiana--for community engagement services addressing improving the quality of surface waters in residential neighborhoods. Activities include outreach to homeowners and civic leaders; a communications strategy addressing aerated wastewater treatment units (ATUs); a short-and long-term strategies report; and reconnaissance for choosing focus neighborhoods. To improve water quality, other partners' concurrent participation involves water quality monitoring, technical assistance to improve ATU function, and analyses of indicators of waterborne diseases as well as mosquito activity. The project period for this RFP is June 2018 to February 2021; it is part of a new project approved and funded by the EPA-Gulf of Mexico Program.
