Commissioning Services for the Flint Hills Discovery
The Project is a new Discovery Center building of approximately 35,000 sq. ft. to be called the
Flint Hills Discovery Center, or another name to be determined in the future. This new
Discovery Center is to be located in the City of Manhattan, Kansas, in the newly developed
South End Downtown Redevelopment, near the intersection of Third Street and Pierre Street.
The Project also includes the general site development adjacent to the building, including
outdoor park and exhibit areas including the parking. The Discovery Center will contain a Lobby,
Store, Caf, Core Exhibit Areas, a Temporary Exhibit Area, an Immersive Theater, Community
Rooms, Exhibit Support Areas, Offices, Administrative Support Areas and Building Services
Areas. The Project will include sustainable features and be, at a minimum, a LEED Certified
building (actual level of rating to be determined).
