The Regional Transportation Authority is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide AE Services for the College Town Satellite Transit Center Project.
The University recently accepted a development proposal from Fairmount Properties of Cleveland Ohio for a UR owned 16 acre site located at the south west corner of the intersection of Elmwood and Mt. Hope Avenues in the City of Rochester. The University s master plan calls for mixed use development at this site combining retail, office, and residential uses, termed College Town . The City of Rochester has adopted an overlay zoning ordinance to facilitate such development at this location. Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (the Authority) has also identified this site as a prime location for a satellite transit center, due to the current and assumed future demand for transit services generated by Strong Memorial Hospital and the adjoining medical facilities complex. In addition, significant federal funding opportunities exist for joint development of a transit facility to be incorporated within a mixed use development at the College Town site. Ongoing discussions among the Authority, UR, and Fairmount Properties indicate a strong interest in pursuing a joint development transit project as part of the College Town Project.
