The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to solicit Ace Computers, of Arlington Heights, IL on a sole source basis. The Applied Aerodynamics and Store Separation Branch (AIR 4.3.2.1) of NAVAIR in Patuxent River, MD has the requirement to augment its 320-core, 640 GByte Linux compute cluster.  The current Linux cluster consists of a single head unit and 20 compute nodes.  Each quad node unit consists of eight Intel Xeon E5-2650 v2 processors.  Each node supports up to 16 DIMMs, with 32 GB currently installed, diskless and utilizes a single FDR Infiniband microLP cluster interconnect.  The cluster runs with RHEL 6.0 and is managed with the Bright Cluster Manager.  the cluster uses an FDR Infiniband Interconnect with Enhanced Hypercube Topology.  The current installation utilizes Mellanox FDR Switches in a single rail - 2 leaf, 1 spine design currently supporting up to 58 compute nodes.  The current system is being augmented to 1024 cores with 4096 GBytes of memory.  The augmented system must be 100% consistent with the current system in every way.  

This acquisition is being pursued under the sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 304 (c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements.  Unless stated herein, no additional information is available.  Requests for the same will be disregarded.  A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government.  GENERAL INFORMATION:  There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or be responsible for any money expended by interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above.  Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit or award a contract.
