Clinical Laboratory Testing Services
The City is seeking proposals for clinical laboratory testing services from only qualified
vendors for their City Employee Medical Clinic and Occupational Health Clinic with an effective date of
service of September 2010.
The scope of services being requested includes the following: The selected Vendor shall conduct clinical
laboratory services for both the City Employee Medical Clinic and Occupational Health Clinic. The general
scope of services being requested includes the following:
2.2.1 Shall be a fully accredited laboratory by one of the national accreditation agencies.
2.2.2 Shall ensure that all laboratory testing locations are CLIA certified and maintain current licenses.
2.2.3 Shall be in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
and its associated regulations.
2.2.4 Specifically for the Occupational Health Clinic, shall be capable of providing testing services that can
assess exposure to harmful or hazardous substances.
2.2.5 Provide daily specimen pick-up service Mondays through Fridays.
2.2.6 Provide access to a board certified laboratory director/pathologist or designee who would be
available for consultation during normal working hours.
2.2.7 May require electronic access to lab orders in the near future.
2.2.8 May require electronic access to lab results in the near future.
2.2.9 Billing shall be based on CPT Codes based on AMA Guidelines
