Project Description: Construction of earthen levee embankment along the Saunders County side of the Platte River near Ashland, NE., to include clearing and tree removal; excavation, hauling, placement, compaction and grading of borrow fill material for new embankment; excavation and grading of existing surfaces; excavation, hauling and placement of topsoil; excavation, hauling and placement of rip-rap and levee rock surfacing; placement of underwater fill, construction of grade crossings, seeding, mulching, and fencing. Also tree removal, excavation, grading and seeding to construct a chute on the Sarpy County side of the Platte River.
The estimated construction cost of this project is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000.
The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 270 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
