Classroom Modernization Project
The four (4) classrooms at Explosive Ordnance Disposal Training and Evaluation Unit One (EODTUE ONE), San Diego, Ca, 92147, require a technical and capability update. The classrooms currently lack installed audio/visual equipment needed to effectively train students. This modernization effort will provide EODTEU ONE and Unit Commanders the training and educational support resources and capabilities necessary to meet mission objectives while significantly reducing training days away from home station, a Chief of Naval Operations priority.
Envisioned Environment details: The objective for the space is an organic (Non-NMCI), robust, automated, interactive, web-enabled, and wireless capable. The computer-based student training environment/classrooms shall have student workstations, instructor work stations (one master and one slave), and A/V equipment for teleconferencing (VTC), and suitable training enhancements. The hardware and software components shall be upgradeable commercial-off-the-shelf and shall be comparable or better than currently employed in universities and/or educational institutions.
