City of Denver OED WIA YOUTH SERVICES
OED-DWD is seeking primary Contractors and their partner organizations to operate youth
programs beginning September 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010 that establish direct linkages
between academic development and youth employment. The City also desires if possible to
renew such contracts that are successful for an additional two (2) one (1) year extensions of
service upon review of the current contract. Successful proposals will clearly describe how
youth will be provided services that will help them develop the skills, knowledge, and
competencies needed to secure:
employment; and/or
postsecondary education and training opportunities that will result in employment;
in one of the following emerging occupational areas in Denver:
construction and skilled trades,
energy,
healthcare,
aerospace,
bioscience,
business services, and
information technology.
