Centurion Vision System
The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Hawaii, intends to make a sole source award to Alcon Laboratories Inc. for the purpose of obtaining a Cataract Extraction System (Centurion Vision System). The Centurion Vision System is the only product compatible with the existing government owned equipment. The statutory authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 1901, as cited in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one responsible source and no other suppliers or services will satisfy agency requirements.
This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.201 and 5.203. This Notice of Intent is not a
request for competitive quotes. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the
purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
