Cell Phone and Smart Phone Data Extraction Devices

The City has and requires many tools to assist in the investigation of crimes involving cell phones. Cell phones/smart phones are used by a vast majority of people, and smart phones are often used before, during and after the commission of crimes. The ability of the Detective Division to gain information from those phones (through obtaining GPS, SMS, MMS, phone calls, pictures, videos, etc) can aid in making an arrest or exonerating an innocent person.
The technology exists to extract and print out this information, even when deleted off of the smart phone, which provides invaluable evidence in an investigation. The technology also exists to link up several parties to show who has contacted who, when and how many times. This provides invaluable information to aid Detectives in establishing a link between multiple parties, and can also be used to break alibis.
