List of characteristics:
Wildlife GPS solar tracking device
1) Light weight, battery operated, solar panel recharging GPS positioning tracking device with accelerometer designed specifically for wildlife.
2) Obtains, logs, and transmits to receiving server GPS locations, including access to other global positioning satellites for increased accuracy; ideal would be for 2-way communication to change GPS fix time schedule to optimize power consumption
3) Cellular (GSM) connectivity for uploading data from device to data storage servers;
5) Activity measuring device, such as an accelerometer, with data uploaded along with GPS locations
6) Weight must be 15 grams or less
7) Internal antennas to minimize damage to tracking device by animal
8) Uploaded data must be accessible via internet portal for viewing and downloading; ideally, portal that allows user interface such as ability to monitor data and change operation parameters
9) Free technical support for the tags for the period of time they are operational
Product must be compatible for use on endangered Hawaiian Hawk to track habitat and movement patterns.
