Cast-in Cooling Manufacturing Demonstration
The Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials & Manufacturing Directorate, Manufacturing Technologies Division (AFRL/RXM), Wright Research Site is seeking the improvement of cast-in technologies. Recent efforts have demonstrated the ability to cast-in film holes on representative components. These efforts have utilized standard casting processes and materials, culminating in a Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) 5 demonstration. The objective of this effort is to extend existing technology to achieve Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6/MRL 7 status for a fielded or development Air Force system.
