Cars to people: commercial land regulations transformed
The City of South Burlingtons commercial and mixed-use areas (especially Shelburne Rd and
Williston Rd) have long been automobile-dependant districts, with land use regulations
somewhat supporting this activity. With a City Center project on the horizon in the Dorset
St. / Williston Rd area and higher density infill development beginning to take place,
however, the City is seeking to revise its regulations to foster more pedestrian-friendly
development/redevelopment in its commercial corridors
