Campuswide Unarmed Security Services
Successful vendor will be required to provide unarmed security personnel to work under the direction of the Department of Public Safety on an as need basis.
The successful vendor must provide uniformed employees (with pictured ID badge) identified as
contractor employees. The proposal must include a complete description of personnel uniforms. Uniforms will be subject to inspection by the Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police, Winston-Salem State University. Security personnel must be unarmed.
Security personnel may function as parking enforcement personnel, issuing WSSU parking citations; provide traffic direction in conjunction with sworn law enforcement officers; provide site security for parking lots, buildings, or special event venues; provide exterior building security patrols; or perform other duties as assigned. Security personnel are to report to the Public Safety Department office at the beginning and end of each shift.
Successful vendor will be provided communication equipment by the University Campus Police Department for use by security personnel assigned. Scheduled work shifts will range from four (4) hours up to ten (10) hours per shift.
All security personnel will be required to become familiar with the Standards of Conduct section of the University Policies and Regulations. These standards will be furnished to the successful vendor.
