Campus-Wide Emergency Warning System
- This RFP had a pre-bid event.
The College currently has a redundant 1 GHz coaxial video cable in
place throughout most buildings on campus excluding the mobile units on both sides of “N” building.
The coaxial cable is currently configured so that one building feeds the next building.
The College envisions a system that allows officials to make emergency verbal announcements over an
amplified speaker system, which can be extended to outdoor space with strategically placed
loudspeakers and LCD monitors.
The College would like to broadcast video feeds to keep students and employees informed in the event of an
emergency. When not functioning as an emergency broadcast system, SCC would like the system
engineered to scroll announcements, display Ram-O-Gram, provide internal video feeds, provide
Video on Demand, and redistribute cable channels from the local cable company.
