The Sugarbeet and Bean Research Unit of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service (USDA/ARS) at East Lansing, Michigan needs a visible and near-infrared camera for integration into a multichannel hyperspectral imaging system. The camera should cover the spectral region of 400-1,700 nm, with the minimum pixels of 320 x 256 and the pixel size of 30 um. The photon efficiency of the camera sensor should be 70% or higher for the spectral region of 900-1,600 nm. The camera sensor should have a dynamic range of 68 dB or higher and the full frame rate of greater than 60. The sensor should have at least 14 bit A/D readout. In addition, the camera should be operated using a Windows 7-based software program and a USB interface for controlling and acquiring hyperspectral images. The camera should have a C-mount for easy mounting with a multi-channel imaging spectrograph that is already available in the laboratory. In addition, the camera should be equipped with a TE cooling device that allows the camera to operate at a temperature of 265 K or lower.
