The State is responsible for ensuring that eligible unemployed Kansans receive their Unemployment benefits in a timely and professional manner. Last year, the Unemployment Insurance Contact Center received more than 883,500 calls. Currently the call center averages 25 agents on the phones each day. Service levels currently are unacceptable. The State is seeking information from telephony vendors to see if there is affordable and relatively easily executed technology available that can assist in improving our performance.
