CONTRACTOR PREQUALIFICATION NOTICE
The Nevada Department of Transportation will require an additional prequalification for construction of the Pleasant Valley, Steamboat Hills, Galena Forest and Galena Creek Bridges on the I-580 Freeway Extension Project. This construction prequalification will be IN ADDITION TO THE STANDARD PREQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR PRIME CONTRACTORS.
Prospective bidders will be required to identify which prequalified bridge contractor will be utilized for construction of these bridges in their bid documents and may list more than one prequalified bridge contractor. Self-performance of the work by the prime contractor is acceptable, however, the prime contractor must also be prequalified under the requirements herein.
This prequalification is contingent upon the approval of the termination agreement for Contract No. 3148 and may be revised or rescinded at any time as deemed necessary by NDOT.
The prequalification submittal shall include all information as requested. NDOT will list prime contractors and subcontractors prequalified for construction of the above referenced bridges per the following schedule:
Prequalification questionnaire packages are available upon request beginning Thursday, June 1, 2006.
Return four (4) copies of the prequalification questionnaire by 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006.
A committee will evaluate prequalification questionnaire submittals and approve or disapprove the submittals for each bridge. Upon the completion of the evaluations contractors will be notified of their status on or about Friday, June 30, 2006.
Disapproved bridge contractors who wish to appeal must file a "Notice of Appeal" with Administrative Services, at the address above, by Thursday, July 6, 2006. Additional information for the appeal must be submitted by Monday, July 10, 2006. This should only be information not previously covered and not a replacement of the construction engineering consultant or personnel.
Appeal review and final listing of prequalified bridge contractors will be made by Monday, July 17, 2006.
Based on an evaluation of the questionnaires, bridge contractors will either be approved or disapproved for the construction of the Pleasant Valley, Steamboat Hills, Galena Forest and/or Galena Creek Bridges. Prequalification of bridge contractors is not required for construction of the other bridges on the I-580 Freeway Extension project.
