CONSULTING EXECUTIVE SEARCH SERVICES
The City and County of San Francisco Employees Retirement System (SFERS) is soliciting proposals
from qualified executive search firms to conduct a recruitment process for the Executive Director for the
City and County of San Francisco Employees Retirement System. This is a very specialized position with
unique responsibilities providing retirement benefits to over 55,000 employees, retirees, and their
beneficiaries, a function that has an extremely high impact on all city departments and outside agencies,
which make it necessary to utilize the services of a professional executive search firm. The firm selected
through this Request for Proposal (RFP) process will conduct an extensive recruitment and selection
effort for the Executive Director position. The selected firm will work closely with the Retirement Board
and the Human Resources office to ensure the recruitment process attracts a diverse group of highly
qualified candidates. The services requested are for the SFERS which administers a defined benefit
pension fund for City and County of San Francisco employees, with approximately 33,000 active members
and 22,000 retired members and beneficiaries.
