The State of Maine 's Bureau of Information Services (BIS) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for the provision and implementation of an automated Computerized Report Archival and Retrieval System. BIS is seeking a system capable of storing reports and documents from various state computer systems that can later be retrieved wholly and in part by the user community over the State's electronic network. The proposed solution will replace the legacy system currently installed on the State of Maine 's OS/390 mainframe. While the current archive is composed of some 20 million pages of mainframe report data, the proposed system should be flexible enough to accommodate the legacy data, ongoing mainframe report production, and output from other dissimilar systems such as Microsoft Windows and UNIX systems.
