CHP SACS COTS Software
It is the state's primary objective to equip all 7,000 CHP officers with a handheld device and commercial off the shelf (COTS) software to facilitate CHP 215, Notice to Appear (Attachment 1) citation issuance within the next three years. This RFI addresses the objectives related to the COTS. This COTS citation software must be able to run on a wide variety of handheld devices, desktops, and laptops. A concurrent, companion RFI Statewide Automated Citation System RFI 2720-91-1" addresses the handheld device. As a pilot, CHP will equip approximately 202 officers from San Jose, Santa Ana, Ventura, and Barstow Area offices.
The objective of this RFI is to obtain information from prospective bidders about the draft requirements of SACS and the impact they may have on potential technology solutions in the marketplace. The information obtained may be used to develop and finalize requirements for the SACS procurement. As a prospective bidder (prime contractor or subcontractor), your feedback is considered very important to the state.
