This is a Request for Information for market research purposes only and is not a formal Sources Sought or a Request for Proposal (RFP).  No solicitation is being issued or requested at this time and this notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach.  There will not be reimbursement for any cost associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests.  Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.

The United States Air Force Academy, CO has an existing contract to install a high image quality and high reliability CCTV system intended to cover select areas of USAFA, and to integrate legacy CCTV system equipment into a consolidated package. The system includes approximately 1,700 cameras as well as ancillary equipment.  The CCTV system will provide camera monitoring, video recording, video storage, and video playback for the purposes of personnel safety and security. The 100% CCTV system design is based on project meetings, field verification of existing conditions, discussion with security authorities and building management teams during field observation, and available as-built information.

The government is considering a Government acquisition to integrate "Gunshot Detection Technology" in this CCTV system at an undetermined date in the future.  The government is requesting answers to the following questions integrating "Gunshot Detection Technology" into the CCTV system based on the description above: 

1.  Is the technology compatible with and able to be retrofit into an existing system utilizing Milestone XProtect, Expert Edition, and Axis P3225-LV Mk II Network Cameras.

 2.  Please provide an explanation of how the technology is installed and retrofit into the above mentioned existing system. Describe software and hardware features and installation.

 3.  At what ranges (distance, in feet) is the technology capable of detecting gunshot noise from handguns, shotguns, rifles, and automatic weapons?

 4.  What user notification capabilities does the technology use upon detection of gunshot noise?

 5.  How is pricing for this technology typically structured? E.g. per camera, lump sum, software and hardware separately, etc.? Please provide commercial pricing information, as available.

 6.  Are commercial pricing lists available?  

 7.  Are any special terms and conditions typically required in the commercial market for this technology?

 8.  How long has this technology been in use by the commercial marketplace? Please provide references and contact information for customers currently using this technology, if available.

All of the above information should be submitted in sufficient detail for a determination to be made on the availability of interested parties.  Responses shall be limited to 10 pages.  Proprietary information should be marked "PROPRIETARY INFORMATION".  In accordance with 52.204-7, contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to award.
