CAST IRON WATER METER BOXES AND LIDS
The cast iron boxes and cast iron lids are to be 20K rated.
The City currently stocks the following cast iron boxes with cast iron lids:
#2 Cast Iron Lopez Utility #2M
#3 Cast Iron Lopez Utility #3M
The potable water lid shall be black and have “Tucson Water” molded into the lid as well as the manufacturer’s
name or logo. Font shall be Standard Fadal CNC Font with 1” characters x .150 deep.
The lid shall have molded tread-pattern for skid resistance; tread shall be .188 x .938 x .150 deep.
The lid shall be solid through and have a molded lifting hole for use by meter reading tool: molded lifting hole
shall have a maximum thickness of 1/2”.
The lid shall seat securely and evenly inside the meter box and shall not overlap the top edge of the meter
box.
The reclaimed water lid shall be purple (pantone 512) and have “Tucson Reclaimed Water” molded into the lid as
well as the manufacturer’s name or logo. Font shall be Standard Fadal CNC Font with 1” characters x .150 deep.
The lid shall have molded tread-pattern for skid resistance; tread shall be .188 x .938 x .150 deep.
