Burns Harbor Approach Channel Dredging, Burns Harbor, IN (Chicago District Project)


This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested / potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bid Package for its construction project, entitled "Burns Harbor Approach Channel Dredging, Burns Harbor, IN (Chicago
District Project)"



PROJECT INFORMATION:
The contractor will be required to remove up to 90,000 Cubic Yards (CY) of sediment by mechanical dredging, at the Burns Harbor approach channel and dispose of the dredged sediment near shore at Ogden Dunes.



ACQUISITION INFORMATION:
Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED TO HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESSES. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System Code (NAISCS) 237990, identifying a small business size standard in dollars of $27.5M. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price construction contract from this acquisition.



The magnitude of cost for construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.



The Invitation for Bid (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Package from: http://www.fbo.gov.



The IFB Package will be available from this Internet site on, or about August 19, 2019. The response date will be 30 calendar days from the issuance date of the solicitation; however, should the 30th day fall on a weekend, the due date will occur on the following first or second business day. Nonetheless, the due date provided within the solicitation document governs.



IN THE CASE OF A DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE DATES PUBLISHED IN THIS NOTICE AND THOSE CALLED OUT IN THE IFB DOCUMENT, THE DATES IN THE IFB DOCUMENT OVERRIDE THOSE PUBLISHED HEREIN THIS NOTICE; THIS IS RELATIVE TO THE IFB ISSUANCE DATE AND THE DUE DATE FOR BIDS.



IMPORTANT POLICY: To comply with the annual representations and certifications requirements, Bidders are now REQUIRED to be registered at the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to placing a bid. A bid cannot be accepted if the contractor's registration isn't active at SAM. Registration can be completed free of charge at www.sam.gov.



FAXED OR ELECTRONIC BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
