Bunker Sand Replacement
The University is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to replace all existing sand in greenside bunkers with new sand.
Specifics:
Remove Existing Sand
All existing sand from 47 greenside bunkers (43,568 sq. ft.) will be removed with mini excavators and/or shovels.
Care will be taken as to not damage existing bunker liner, existing drainage and existing bunker edges.
Sand hauling will be done with dump trailers/material handlers pulled by tractors or heavy duty work carts.
Approximately one-half of the existing sand will be hauled to specific dump sites determined by golf course
superintendent in native areas of the golf course.
This sand will be buried and shaped in these specific areas to blend into golf course mounding.
The other one-half of the existing sand will be hauled to the maintenance facility parking area to be dumped.
All hauling will be done using cart paths or specific haul roads identified by golf course superintendent.
Plywood will be used extensively at the enter/exit areas of bunkers, around greens and on fairways to eliminate turf
damage as specified by golf course superintendent.
Any damage to golf course property will be repaired at the cost of the contractor.
