Project: Building Recordation, Abatement and Demolition at the Edison New Jersey, Job Corps Center

A. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set Aside


B. The assigned North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 236220, "Commercial and Institutional Building Construction"


C. The Proposal due date is June 4, 2019 at 2:00pm Local Time


D. An award will be made on Best Value: Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA)


E. An Organized Site visit is scheduled for May 16, 2019 at 11:00AM Local Time.


F. The magnitude of construction is $1Million - $5 Million.


The work involves construction services for the abatement of asbestos containing materials, lead paint removal, PCB ballast removal, and demolition of Buildings 801, 806 and 871, totaling approximately 31,420 gross square feet, located on the Edison Job Corps Center.

Buildings 801, 806 and 871 were constructed in 1943 as part of Camp Kilmer Military Base. The former military campus and its 1940s era buildings have become eligible for listing on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Work includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Building 801 is a 2-story building totaling 8,080 GSF. Work includes hazardous materials removal and disposal, utility isolation, building demolition, and infill of building footprint.

• Building 806 is a 1-story building totaling 3,280 GSF. Work includes hazardous materials removal and disposal, utility isolation, building demolition, and infill of building footprint.


• Building 871 is a 2-story building totaling 19,600 GSF. Work includes hazardous materials removal and disposal, utility isolation, building demolition, and infill of building footprint.


• Site demolition and miscellaneous site improvements in the form of site grading, general landscaping, concrete curbing, and asphalt repairs.

Also included in the work is the installation of Interpretative Signage for the purposes of informing local residents, visitors to the area, and other of the history behind Camp Kilmer.
