Books and Library Materials Procurement for Benin

The Organization has agreed to provide all reference materials for research and support to setup library/resource centers in all operational Teacher Training Centers (TTC), and to pilot a merit-based awards program for the best schools and their teachers in Benin. The choice of materials is directly linked to the training needs of TTC instructors, student-teachers and the curriculum that has been developed to train them. The books and maps in this procurement are intended to provide:
1. Examples of teaching supports used to model, summarize and illustrate concepts.
2. Examples of teacher's resource guides for use as part of preparation for classroom instruction.
3. Reference texts for teaching and learning.
4. Examples of children's literature
5. Current information on pedagogic practice and theory
6. Examples of children's literature for use in research, comparative studies and classroom instruction.
7. General knowledge texts to improve the breadth of knowledge among instructors and student-teachers
8. Maps and books from primary content areas to enrich understanding
