The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas intends to make an award to a responsible offeror for the provision of Bio-Medical Waste Removal at the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (hereinafter referred to as USMCFP) Springfield, Missouri. The contract type is an indefinite delivery/requirements contract with firm fixed unit prices. The contract period shall consist of a base period from the date of award through 12 months, and four one-year option periods for renewal at the discretion of the government.

The USMCFP Springfield is seeking a contractor to properly remove and perform thermal destruction of biomedical and pharmaceutical (chemo) waste material. The Contractor shall perform thermal destruction of infectious waste in environmentally approved incineration facilities or destruction as required by the do-not-resuscitate (DNR). The Contractor shall furnish all approved containers. Containers shall be red, reusable plastic tubs with lid, liners & tape. Removal shall be in approved containers contractor-owned vehicles operated by trained personnel as required by law. The Contractor will leave ample amount of tubs and lids for exchange upon request. This includes providing properly sanitized tubs, lids and liners.

In addition to the above listed removal, there is a requirement for Pharmaceutical Hazardous Waste Disposal. Specifically, removal of Coumadin packaging generated on nursing units following administration to patient population. Coumadin package waste will be placed in appropriate waste container at the administration site. These containers shall be picked up twice per year, in January and July. Approximately six containers will be generated for each scheduled pickup. Containers will be placed in 15 gallon drums provided by the Contractor. The Contractor shall perform thermal destruction of infectious waste in environmentally approved incineration facilities or destruction as required by the DNR. Verification of disposal by manifest control records is required.

Services will be performed for individuals who are in the custody and care of the Federal Bureau of Prisons within a secure correctional environment. The solicitation will be made available on or about March 29, 2017, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. All future information concerning this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through this website.

Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code is 562211, with a small business size standard of $38.5 million. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. The website for registration is www.sam.gov. The date for receipt for quotations is on or before April 28, 2017. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
