Beneficiary and Family Centered Care (BFCC) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) (BFCC-QIO)
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is giving notice of a proposed contract action for the program entitled "Beneficiary and Family Centered Care (BFCC) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO)" (BFCC-QIO). The proposed contract will be for a multiple award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract.
The purpose of the Beneficiary and Family Centered Care (BFCC) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) contract is to improve healthcare services for Medicare beneficiaries through BFCC-QIO performance of numerous statutory review functions, including, but not limited to, quality of care reviews, beneficiary complaint reviews, discharge and termination of service appeals in various provider settings, medical necessity reviews, and Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) reviews. CMS wants to ensure that care provided by the Medicare Program is medically necessary, reasonable, meets professionally recognized standards of care, is provided in the appropriate setting, and complies with certain standards under the EMTALA.
This is a full and open competition. It is anticipated that CMS will award multiple IDIQ contract awards that will have a ten (10) year ordering period. The NAICS code applicable to this procurement is 541618 (Other Management Consulting Services) with a size standard of $15 million.
This solicitation is issued as pending availability of funds.
