Barlow Ranger District Roof Replacements
Barlow Ranger District Roof Replacement (Mt. Hood National Forest). This contract is to replace the roofs on the tree cooler building, wood shop building, and part of the main office building. The Government will supply the roofing materials for the main office building and the Contractor will supply the labor. For the other two buildings the contractor will supply all of the materials and labor.
SUMMARY OF WORK
A. Item #1: Remove wooden shingle roof from Northern section of Barlow Ranger District
Office, Building #2000, and replace with 3 tab asphalt shingles. Project area as
approximately 1600 sq. ft. and includes one main body, with two smaller sections attached.
Roofing and related materials are to be provided by Forest Service, this is a labor only
project.
B. Optional Item #1: Remove wooden shingle roofs from the Wood Shop, Building #2237.
Total square footage approximately 2600 sq. ft.; replace wooden shingles with 3 tab asphalt
shingles to match main office building. No materials will be provided. This is a complete
removal, replacement of shingles, and repair replace on necessary substrata and fascia
board.
C. Optional Item #2: Remove wooden shingle roofs from the Tree Cooler, Building #2633.
Total square footage approximately 4500 sq. ft.; replace wooden shingles with 3 tab asphalt
shingles to match main office building. No materials will be provided. This is a complete
removal, replacement of shingles, and repair replace on necessary substrata and fascia
board.
D. Work Covered by Contract includes, but not limited to:
1. Removal of existing roof
2. Replacing unusable substrata (Up to 10% guaranteed for the contract. If the quantity
exceeds the 10% it will be paid at the bid unit price.)
3. Replacing unusable fascia board
4. Applying moisture barrier paper
5. Replacing with 3 tab asphalt shingles.
