Attractive Design: A website design that reflects he Authority, draws people in, and makes it
stand out among public transit agencies on both a regional and national basis. Design
characteristics should include but not be limited to:
• Creative design that clearly displays the most important information about
AVTA’s services – this design should include custom design elements and allow
users to access information easily from the homepage.
• Photos and collages related to AVTA services and the Antelope Valley
community.
• Design should have a consistent look and feel throughout the site to make it
easier for website visitors to navigate the site and find information they need.
• Use of Cascading Style Sheets to ensure future consistency as well as
separation of content and design – and to allow for the application of a new
design theme in the future without the need to redevelop the underlying website.
• Section 508 Compliant making it accessible to persons with disabilities.
• Design should incorporate easy-to-use drop down menus to help users quickly
understand navigation and locate information with the least amount of clicks.
• Breadcrumbs showing the user’s current path to let them know exactly where
they are on the website.
