This is a Sources Sought (SS) Notice only, not a solicitation announcement and should not be considered as such. There is no solicitation available at this time. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this SS, nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. This SS does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Any information provided in response to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only and will not be released. Contractor participation is not a promise of future business with the Government. The purpose of this SS is to conduct market research to determine an acquisition strategy for the establishment of specialty beds and equipment for rental.

The Dayton VA Medical Center, Audiology Service, is in need of three (3) Sound Booths to replace the current ones that are either past their life expectancy or have been damaged and irreparable. This requirement will be for the build of new sound booths and removal of the damaged booth.

The types of sound booths required are as follows:

Sound Booth #1 (specifications are outlined in VHA Handbook 1170.02, Appendix D, Booth Audiometric Examination Specifications [IB 11-87, June 1993], dtd March 14, 2011)
Shall be single-walled operator side
Shall be double-walled test suite
Outside dimensions: 18'-10" wide by 10'-4" deep by 8'-10" high
Inside dimensions: 8'-0" wide by 9'-8" deep by 7'-2" high
Outside dimensions: 8'-6" wide by 8'-4" deep by 6'-6"
A maximum of four (4) inch tolerance is allowed on length and width to permit booth to fit into standard footages of space
Booth shall consist of the following:
Vibration isolation system
Floor assembly
Wall and roof panel assembly
Acoustical door units
Acoustical window units
Assembly hardware, including connecting panel joints
Electrical and lighting wiring, components, and fixtures
Silenced forced air ventilation system or packaged air conditioning silencers for connection to building HVAC systems
Carpeting
Paint and other specified finishes
Dust seals/shields and closure strips
Jack panel

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10, is conducting market research to determine if there are a sufficient number of Small Businesses capable of performing the requirements to warrant a set-aside. The proposed solicitation is to furnish all materials, labor, equipment and transportation required to provide equipment to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Dayton VA Medical Center. Contractor shall also comply with any other federal, state, and local laws applicable to the industry.

Potential sources must demonstrate experience and knowledge of required services and capability to provide such supplies. Potential sources should submit:

business name and address;
point of contact;
business size, and any applicable business socio-economic category;
capability statement;
provide information for recent and relevant projects similar in nature;
DUNS number;
contract number, if applicable;
brochure, pictures, and dimensions of equipment;
authorized distributor letter.


The NAICS code for this procurement is 339112 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees.

Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2019. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available.

There is no guarantee, expressed or implicit, that the market research for this acquisition will result in a particular set-aside or sole source award, or any other guarantee of award strategy.
