Assessment of WIC
Purpose
The County is requesting sealed proposals from qualified firms for the purchase of the following products and services: Conduct research to a) assess current and historical WIC program participant characteristics including anthropometric (e.g. BMI), demographic ( e.g. age, gender race/ethnicity etc.) and sociographic (e.g. geographic location of residence and WIC services); and b) identify the effectiveness and impact of WIC nutritional counseling as well as barriers and facilitators for achieving and maintaining optimal nutrition. The mechanisms to achieve this purpose include secondary data analyses of the Countys WIC program dataset (1999-2009) and primary data collection to evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition counseling among WIC participants.
