Asbestos Abatement Services
The Contractor may use any abatement method or combination of methods in
compliance with applicable laws and regulations to complete the work, as long as the
asbestos is completely removed from the areas specified by the Director of Facilities or
designee. This Section includes removal of all asbestos containing materials using
negative air filtration techniques, wet methods, and procedures including remote
shower facilities, the masking and sealing of all openings, windows, doors, ducts and
vents, and the encapsulation of all removal surfaces. The Contractor may use
glovebag removal where appropriate subject to monitoring using air and dust testing
methods. The Contractor must follow the site/job specific design set forth by the Project
Designer.
