The Aurora Housing Authority (AHA) intends to demolish an office building and two residential apartment buildings. A Phase II Environmental Assessment was conducted and asbestos containing materials (ACM) were found. The ACM must be removed and properly disposed of prior to demolition of the three buildings.
Scope of Work:
To remove and properly dispose of asbestos-contaminated linoleum in the kitchens, bathrooms, coat closets, washer/dryer closets and hot water heater closets in two apartment buildings with a total of 50 units. In addition, there is approximately 120 sq. ft. of contaminated resilient flooring in the office building at 10875 E. Kentucky Avenue that must be removed and properly disposed of, as demolition activity could cause it to become a friable material.
The ACM-contaminated buildings are currently occupied. All buildings will become vacant in August 2012, and asbestos removal must commence immediately thereafter.
Note: This project requires compliance with federal procurement and contracting requirements, including the payment of Davis-Bacon wage rates. See additional information below.
