The College District wishes to renovate approximately 20,000 square feet of the existing Skill
Center and construct approximately 24,500 square feet of new space. The existing Skill Center,
containing 72,200 net square feet (75,000 gsf), was first constructed in 1979. Several minor
interior remodel projects have occurred since then but the exterior shell remains largely
unchanged since first constructed. The new construction should be energy efficient as is practical and possible. The completed project is anticipated to successfully integrate new and existing construction into one harmonious architectural statement.
