Architectural Design Review Services
The City intends to utilize a consultant to assist City staff with reviewing the design of large
development projects, and strive to meet the goals and policies of the Burbank2035 General
Plan. Architectural topics for review may include one or more of the following: massing and
scale; articulation; buffering from adjacent land uses; fenestration; colors, materials, and
finishes; urban design including semi-private and public spaces; pedestrian orientation,
connectivity, and amenities; and on-site amenities for workers, residents, and/or the general
public. Burbank is a built-out city, and therefore, the context and surroundings are important.
It is expected that each project would require an amount of time ranging between ten to
twenty hours of time for review per project (larger projects may require more time).
