Archeological Overview & Assessment
An Archeological Overview (AOA) is required NPS archeological planning document that describes and assesses the known and potential archeological resources of a park. The AOA must describe known and potential pre-contract and historic period archeological resources, identify their temporal context and estimated level of significance and recommend National Register (NR) listing should also be sought. The contractor must prepare draft and final versions of the AOA report and complete NPS Archeological Site Information System (ASMIS) site forms and Massachusetts Historical Commission archeological site forms.
