Women's Foundation of Minnesota Invites Applications for Social Change Fund
The Women's Foundation of Minnesota's Social Change Fund provides resources for projects that are designed to have a significant impact on societal attitudes and behaviors toward women or girls or that result in systems change.
The Social Change Fund is directed toward womens and girls groups, projects, or organizations from across Minnesota that build equality for women and girls in their communities.
The foundation makes grants to seed, support, and strengthen womens and girls groups working for social change in Minnesota in five key areas: 1) guaranteeing womens health and reproductive rights; 2) advancing womens safety and security; 3) creating economic justice for women; 4) expanding womens political representation; and 5) promoting womens human rights.
Social Change Fund grants typically range from $5,000 to $20,000 for any one applicant/program.
The Women's Foundation provides three types of support for women and girls organizations: 1) General Operating Grants for operational costs that maintain and sustain the ongoing work of an organization (i.e. salaries, benefits, rent, copying, phone, etc.); 2) Project Grants for existing project costs or those that may be in addition to or new to an organizations regular programming; and 3) Start-up Grants for new and emerging organizations that may or may not have a track record but show significant promise for success and sustainability.
Applications are invited from all areas of the state of Minnesota. The foundation does not fund organizations outside Minnesota.
The Womens Foundation will fund organizations incorporated as not-for-profits; American Indian Nations; collaborations of two or more organizations that are working to achieve a common goal; and unincorporated organizations. Applicants should contact program staff to discuss their organization, project, and/or fiscal arrangements before submitting an application.
