The American Tinnitus Association (ATA) requests applications from scientists and doctors affiliated with non-profit institutions who are seeking tinnitus-related research funding. ATAs Research Grant Program financially supports scientific studies investigating tinnitus. Studies must be directly concerned with tinnitus and contribute to ATA's goal of finding a cure.
ATA awards a maximum of $300,000 at $100,000 per year over three years. The application deadline for the next funding cycle is December 31, 2008. For additional details, please review the specific guidelines at http://www.ata.org/research/research_faqs.php
ATA also awards up to $10,000 to doctoral students, including Ph.D. and Au.D. candidates or medical residents affiliated with a United States non-profit institution. Each candidate must have a qualified mentor supporting their research. Grant funds awarded by ATA may be budgeted and used for equipment and supplies, including drugs and services and travel to a scientific conference by the student investigator. Please review additional student guidelines at http://www.ata.org/research/research_students_faqs.php
Grant funding is competitive. ATA's Scientific Advisory Committee considers the subject of the research; the quality of its design; its potential for making significant advances in basic knowledge or for clinical application; the available facilities and personnel at the institution in which the research will be carried out; the qualifications of the investigators; and compliance with ATAs Roadmap to a Cure.
