The Vendor shall provide the following:
A. The alloy determinations are to be done by tests outlined and in conformance with tables in ASTM B209.
B. Typical chemical composition analysis in weight percent will be for silicon, iron, copper, manganese, chromium, zinc, others each, others total, and aluminum. This may also include titanium if proper determination of alloy requires it.
C. Typical mechanical properties analysis shall include yield and ultimate tensile strengths in PSI and elongation percent, in two inches, for both the longitudinal and transverse per sample.
D. The samples to be tested will be mailed to the vendor from the Department in the form of 12x12 aluminum and are alleged to be one of the following alloys and temper---5052-H38, 6061-T6, or 3004-H38.
E. Vendor shall be notified as to the alleged alloy of each sample sent.
F. Reports shall state the AA number for the tested sample alloy under chemical composition and the weight percent for all constituents needed from table 1 of ASTM B209.
G. Mechanical reports shall state width in inches, thickness in inches, area in sq. inches, yield tensile strength in PSI, ultimate tensile strength in PSI and elongation percent in two inches for each sample in both longitudinal and transverse direction.
H. Mechanical reports shall also state whether the sample meets the minimum tensile, yield and elongation requirements for its alleged alloy.
I. All reports shall be signed by an authorized representative of the vendor.
J. Samples shall be identified in the reports in the fashion in which they are identified in the requests for analysis. There is estimated to be a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 55 requests for analysis per year during the contract period. However, the actual number may be lesser or greater than this range.
K. Faxed or electronic (email) transmission of results, prior to mailed originals, may be required on a "rush" sample or all samples.
L. Bid shall be for each sample, based on the minimum and maximum stated (30 to 55 samples estimated).
