Alternatives Assessment Reports
The State is initiating this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals from parties interested in conducting alternatives assessments for priority chemicals used in consumer products. The Department administers the Safer Chemicals in Children’s Products Program to implement Maine law requiring manufacturers to report the use of priority chemicals in their manufacturing process, and in some instances, the Department may find it necessary to contract a third party to perform an alternatives assessment for a priority chemical known to be used in consumer products that are captured by this regulation.
