The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is conducting acquisition planning for potential award(s) for services of commercially provided Type 2 qualified wildland firefighter crews, hereafter referred to as Alaska Type 2 Contract Crews (AK2CC), for fire suppression and mop-up activities, All-Hazard incidents, and Severity/Preparedness assignments for Alaska and the lower 48. These AK2CCs are to be utilized for assignments that involve the protection and management of public lands, as well as private lands. In Alaska, the BLM is responsible for fire suppression and protection on Native owned lands including private native allotments.
The BLM is seeking information from interested parties with specialized capabilities to provide such services. This Sources Sought is intended as a means of conducting market research which will help determine the best method for the anticipated solicitation and subsequent procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes assigned to this requirement is 115310, Support Activities for Forestry- Forest Fire Suppression.
