Body of Notice: The Northern Region State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Division of Preconstruction Services, Design Section (DEPARTMENT) is soliciting professional engineering services to complete design and construction work for Savoonga Airport. Rehabilitation of the airport includes resurfacing the runway, taxiway, apron and airport access road, applying a dust palliative to the operating surfaces, replacing the lighting system and provide a concrete floor and foundation, electrical and miscellaneous upgrades for the snow removal equipment storage building. The taxiway will be realigned to meet geometric standards.
A complete description of services is contained in the RFP Package. Estimated period for performance of the Agreement is approximately June 2006 through December 2010. Cost of these professional services is expected to be in the range of $250,000 and $500,000.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) Package will be available May 2, 2006, and may be downloaded from our web site at: http://www.dot.state.ak.us/procurement/prosvcs/index.shtml; then click on RFPs OVER $100,000 under the Bid Reports heading. Or the RFP may be obtained in person from the DOT&PF plans room at the Engineering Services Building, Room 3, 2301 Peger Road, Fairbanks, Alaska. Persons residing outside the City of Fairbanks may obtain an RFP Package through the mail by telephoning (907) 451-2247 or TDD (907) 451-2363 (for Hearing Impaired, requires special equipment). There is no charge for the RFP package.
Proposals must conform to the RFP and be submitted with specified forms. Submittals must be received at the address indicated on the RFP no later than May 24, 2006, 4:00 p.m., prevailing time.
