The NC Irrigation Contractors Licensing Board (NCICLB) was created by the General Assembly in 2008 as a result of
the adoption of GS89G. This act authorizes the licensure of irrigation contractors for the first time in the state of North
Carolina. The nine board appointments were completed in November and the first board meeting was held on 2
December. The board will begin accepting applications for licensure in January 2009. The estimated number of
applicants for the first year is 800 to 1,200.
One of the first orders of business of this newly created board will be the selection and hiring of a capable person or
firm to manage the boards day to day business. In this regard, NCICLB is soliciting qualifications and proposals to
select a professional Board Administrator to provide management services on a time limited basis. The Board
Administrator will provide a variety of services as outlined below. The Board Administrator will be required to work and
collaborate closely with members of the NCICLB toward the execution of Board business.
The initial contract period shall be for six (6) months. At the option of the NCICLB, the contract may be extended up to
two additional one-year periods under the same terms and conditions. Any requests for price increases during any
renewal period shall be submitted to NCICLB for consideration at least 30 days prior to the expiration date of the
contract.
