REQUIREMENT DESCRIPTION: This requirement is access to a database that provides scholarly research using peer-reviewed, full-text journals, and journals indexed in leading citation indexes.

The subscription:
1. Must be able to provide under CLIN 0001, Academic Research Database for Department of Defense Libraries, the following minimum characteristics:

i. Contents must have a global scope and include full-text journals, magazines, and full-text peer-reviewed journals.
ii. This database must be a combination of academic journals, magazines, periodicals, reports, books and videos covering disciplines ranging from astronomy, anthropology, biomedicine, engineering, health, law, music, and literacy to mathematics, pharmacology, women's studies, and zoology.
iii. The database must have a discovery layer, the ability to sort by source types and publication date, subject thesaurus, and the ability to view in HTML or PDF.
iv. Search functionality must be by keyword, Boolean/phrase, options to limit by keyword or phrase, capability to cite, export, and Permalink functionality sustainable URL to return to original article.
v. Customer convenience services should include online help, option to save, print, email, save search histories and results, and "Ask a Librarian" service.
vi. Access to information should be seamless, minimal response time between query initiation and query results, and search results within 5-10 seconds.
vii. The database must be able to interface with the Air Force Portal, Army Knowledge Online (AKO), Marine Corps, Military OneSource and Navy Digital Library (NDL).
