In accordance with Section 3.2.2.4 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS), the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA's decision to contract on a single source basis.

The FAA intends to award a contract to ARC Technology Solutions using single source procedures to provide Airport Surveillance Radar 9 (ASR-9) Transmitter Backplane kits and adapters. The design drawings for the required ASR-9 Transmitter Backplane units are proprietary to ARC. The FAA has explored redesigning the required units via Market Survey Announcement #15778 on 2014-02-12 and determined that this approach was not a plausible alternative.

A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. All responses to this announcement must be sent to the Contracting Officer, Daniel Farrell, via email by 12PM (EST) on June 16, 2014. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
