ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES
The City of New York Department of Parks and Recreation (the ―Agency‖) announces an opportunity for Design
Excellence in public architecture. The Agency is seeking up to eight appropriately qualified Architectural Design firms to
perform architectural, engineering, and construction-related services for various construction projects, as selected by the
Commissioner on a Work Order basis Citywide.
The selected consultants would demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the City of New Yorks goal of design
excellence. Designs produced by these consultants would incorporate a cost effective design approach fully considering
life cycle analysis in selection of materials and systems, a balance of innovative design and traditional operating and
maintenance practices including building durability and ease of maintenance, building systems and space layout that
provide safety, high performance systems that provide value and sustainability while protecting health and environmental
concerns, and accessibility for all building users.
