AIR 4.11 - Line Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (LSPMSM) Motors
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ intends to issue a fixed price contract for the procurement of Line Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (LSPMSM) motors consisting of components, hardware, and assemblies in support of the Automatic Carrier Landing System (ACLS) AN/SPN-46, on a sole source basis to Skurka Aerospace Inc. The procurement will support the Naval Air Warfare Center Webster Outlying Field Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATC&LS).
The requested LSPMSM motors are required from the OEM, Skurka Aerospace, the only company that currently possesses the technical expertise, detailed drawings, and special tooling required to fabricate these complex units.
The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A determination by the Government, not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
